What's a mover? I think it's best to know the powers before you know the plot so you get a good feel for what I'm talking about plot wise. The various types of physic abilities we all know an love have been turned into names that are likely to be used if they were ever to exist.
(Most of this section is direct from wiki so I don't get my facts wrong on how they want the powers shown to the audience)
Movers: Can you guess? Telekinesis.

"Movers manipulate inanimate objects at varying distances. The actual technique is known as kinetic signature control, where the Mover is trained to hear and identify the specific atomic frequency of any given material and alter the gravity wave around it, usually producing the nearby air to appear warped. Advanced Movers can work at the molecular level creating protective shields in the air around them."
Pushers: Kinda like hypnosis.

"Pushers push specific thoughts, memories, and even emotions into their targets. This technique can be used to gain a subject's trust or to have them perform any action, thinking it was their own agenda. In a way it is a form of complete hypnosis."
Watchers: The good old seeing the future psychic.

"Watchers are trained to self-induce visions of the future, very much like a prolonged sense of déjà vu. The technique of following the future, either of a person or object, is called subject tracking. A Watcher's skill is primarily rated by how far they can see into the future. Some Watchers are able to improve the clarity of their visions by consuming alcohol, although only Cassie and her mother have been revealed to do so."
Bleeders:

"Bleeders have the ability to emit high-pitched sonic vibrations that cause ruptures in a target's blood vessels, also their eyes form into slits while they use this ability for reasons not explained. They are known to fans as Screechers."
Sniffers:
{Hard to find a good image for this power sorry}
"Sniffers are highly developed psychometrics who can track the location of either people or objects over varying distances. Like psychic bloodhounds, their tracking ability is increased if they have tactile access to an object that has been in direct contact with the subject. Sniffers receive information based on images, not specific addresses, which is why identifiable landmarks help increase their effectiveness."
Readers:
{Again hard to find a image}
"Readers are similar to Sniffers, except they use physical contact of an object."
Shifters:
{again I fail}
"Shifters can temporarily shift patterns of light on any object to create illusions to the naked eye. They work mostly on a touch basis, but once the illusion is established, it remains with the object for short periods of time. For example, a Shifter could momentarily touch a one dollar bill, altering its light pattern to appear as a one hundred dollar bill for hours until the effect expires. In order to shift something, the object to be shifted must have roughly the same dimensions as what it will be shifted into. The length of the shift is based on experience and ability."
Wipers:
{I really am failing

}
"Wipers are skilled at either temporary or permanent memory erasure, an invaluable asset in espionage. Experience will dictate the accuracy of their wipes, though the danger is always present that they will eliminate a desired memory."
Shadows:
{Not really much point here he doesn't look any different}
"Shadows are trained to block the vision of other clairvoyants such as Sniffs, making any subject within their target radius appear "dark". Experience will enhance the size of the area they can shadow and the intensity of their shielding effect. Shadows need to be awake to perform their ability, and it is common for a detail of two Shadows to operate in shifts while protecting a person or object for extended periods. Most Shadows are effective only against Sniffs, but some extremely powerful Shadows are able to block even Watchers."
Stitches:
{Again not much different}
"Stitches are psychic surgeons trained to quickly reconstruct cells to their previous or healthy state. Using only their hands, they can heal and even "unheal" whatever they have done. For more detailed work, Stitches use a silver based cream on their hands which acts as a conductor to their ability."
There are more in the comic.
The sort of.. realness to the powers really works for this film there not overdone like you would find in Marvel ect. The effects in general are really well done. I loved the Shifters and Movers effects. The stitch was pretty good as well.
The plot: Right in this world (not sure of the time period lets say current-slight future) the film centers around a group of psychics born with the powers listed above. We follow the group who together attempt to take down a government agency (Division) that is using a dangerous drug to enhance their powers in hopes of creating an army of super soldiers.
Yes I know super soldiers. Don't worry that's just so you have a reason to hate division. There are no super soldiers in this film.
Nobody has ever survived the drug until one "Pusher" Kira Hudson (Camilla Belle) survives.
She survives but escapes with the help of a character we later find out to be very key to the story. She's not alone when she escapes she takes with her a syringe with the drug they have put in her blood. During the first part of this film we switch between focusing on her escape and focusing on the "Mover" Nick Gant (Chris Evans, Colin Ford) the hero of this tale as you can tell from the first time you see him and his tragic past. Luckily it's only touched on and not emo'd over for the whole film.
You start of the film with Nick as a child showing how he's run from Division all his life. His father a first generation mover and the lack of training he has had in using his powers means the only use he has for them is moving dice and fixing games to win money. The last thing he's told before he sees his father for the last time "One day a girl will give you a flower, help her"
Seconds later and his father is no more. Flash to Kira waking up not knowing where she is or what's going on. Mysterious

. In come's Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning) a watcher here to save the day with just a little help from our hero. The tale goes on to show the corruption of division, the reveal of who that woman at the start was, what's in the briefcase, Love, Drama, Action and even more brilliant characters.
