• karo: I've been busy doing this Summer School for Access to Uni thing.  For the past week or two I have had at least one big essay per week(by big I mean 1500 words, so not massive but still a fair bit for a weekly essay) got one due Monday this week and another due Friday

• Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born!

spam comes from spiced ham which is basically what it is
imagine the taste of hame but with a bit more of a seasoning to it
the texture is not as 'stuck together' as ham, its a bit more squidgy, but you still cut slices of it
on its own its a bit too much, but it goes nicely in a sandwich

Let's review. It's been three weeks without my laptop. Two weeks waiting for 'the part'. Engineers working 9-5. Phone calls every day. Three weeks without writing. I LIVE OFF WRITING! IT IS MY OXYGEN! MY NOTEBOOKS AND THE INTERNET HAVE BEEN ACTING AS LIFE SUPPORT FOR SOOOO LOOOONG! D:
So then my Dad did the smart thing, and yelled. But never really got anywhere. And I think tomorrow he'll try yelling some more. We'll get this over with eventually.

My dad FINALLY got through to some guy with sense (Stuart/Stewart! Wheee!) who checked the call list and agreed it was indeed ridiculous. They're getting the heasd engineer on it and it's estimated to arrive back Wednesday or Thursday morning.
Thinking over how they needed to get the head engineer to do this makes a little bit of me die inside.

FINALLY got Accy back. ^^ I'll have to check whether he works later, but right now i'm having tea.

3 weeks to fit a £4.95 Audio Jack Board. Blood plz.

On a rather funny note, on the check-off list, they didn't check off the laptop as sent. They just did a scawl/line thing were there should have been a 1. -_- I should like, claim it as unreceived just to spite them.

And the files I installed the last time I got him back, few as they were, were left on. Which makes it quite clear that there was never any need to wipe my harddrive. *sigh*

But yeah, it's good to have him back, I'm still getting everything set up. No idea how I'm going to manage by music collection with the two PCs now, I might Google up some kind of solution.

Oh yeah, and I drew a half-decent pic to celebrate. Or at least, I like it, because I actually drew Muvo for once. Might scan it later. ^^

EDIT: Got him up and running, but there've been a few oddities - Flash won't work, the touchpad mouse keeps randomly scrolling, stuff like that. Oh yeah, and it can be really slow. -_-

Eh, I don't think it's worth sending him back (...NOTHING is worth sending him back o_o;; ), but I'll have to look into it and see where it's going wrong.

Flash is the main thing that's bugging me. It's MX 6.0, it worked fine on him before, and works fine on iZ, but after I used the serial on him it started crashing on start up (the program, not the laptop).
As for the mouse and speed issues, chances is their connection, but I dunno how. I'll check his memory and stuff later.
