• karo: I've been busy doing this Summer School for Access to Uni thing.  For the past week or two I have had at least one big essay per week(by big I mean 1500 words, so not massive but still a fair bit for a weekly essay) got one due Monday this week and another due Friday

• Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born!

Sonic Chronicles, Spore, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Lego Batman, Guitar Hero: On Tour (it's out, but I don't have it)... there's a lot of games I'm looking forward too, though the names of them escape me for now.

The game Mirror's Edge coming out soon looks good. It's been hailed as the new Portal - whether it will be that awesome I don't know, but I think the premise could be similar - watching a trailer, I saw it is in first-person, the player probably has to get to grips with a very new way of getting around, just like in Portal, although this game seems to have a fighting element to it as well. Basically you play as a street runner, ferrying top secret information between places in a high-security world. I think it has the potential to be very cool.

The Wrath of the Lich King Cinematic was released recently:

It looks amazing, unbelievable graphics. You can tell this game is going to have a strong input from its Lore.

The cinematic looks good, though it always confuses me how such a character-based plotline can work in an MMORPG. xD Pity it doesn't show gameplay graphics, it's just fancy CG... I like the frost dragon (summon?), though. :3

Heh, I don't know if getting a job to afford WoW would work... it's insanely time consuming, if you were working anything more than part-time you really wouldn't be able to get as obsessively into it as is the norm. =O

(That, and with a job, you could be buying cooler things - like a house! Or a Wii... >_> xD)
