  • Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born! Cheesy

1. Nine Inch Nails
Numberrrr one! Is it Ghosts that has done this? I suppose I really need to get my grubby hands on it.

1. Muse
I approve. I didn't know you liked them so much. You know I have a load of B-sides and stuff like that, right? I can send them to you on MSN (hint Tongue) or something if you want.

Heh, it's partly Ghosts. Just realising that, from my honest POV, NIN's discography is both timeless (STFU, I love Pretty Hate Machine xD) and flawless, and with Ghosts reminding me that not only is the music amazing, but more than skilled when it comes to composition and musicianship.

I've been listening to the Fragile a lot more than Ghosts, tbh. xD Though the instrumental work is brilliant, Trent's vocal ability, especially when it comes to conveying emotion (see: Somewhat Damaged) is equally so.

The Fragile is an unfortunately overlooked album. I think it has his best production on it, and his best vocal performances (except for the Broken EP).

1. Nightwish
2. Queen
3. Gackt
4. L'Arc~en~Ciel
5. Hirano Aya (not exactly a band, but this voice actress is a great singer, and the songs from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are awesome).

I do like bands such as Radiohead and Muse, but unfortunately I can't say I've heard enough of them to make any judgement on exactly where they stand in my favourites. This list may be changing very quickly depending on what I hear.

This list is also based on how much I enjoy the bands and listen to them right now, rather than musical merit, but that's not to say they're not awesome anyway. xD

Three of them are Japanese...hm, shows how disillusioned I am with British music nowadays. xD

I've lost a lot of my care for Japanese voice actors lately. Though it doesn't bother me in gaming and anime, in pure recording form, a lot of their voices become irritatingly unrealistic and overly-feminine.I was never really 'into' the seiyuu  scene anyway, mind.

Cheers for reminding me to get some J-music again.

I have to agree with you there, but there are some outstanding ones floating around out there.
