There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born! Cheesy

It isn't actually a stupid question, especially since what I've been saying across this topic has been contradictory.

When it comes down to the English edition, I'm held down by no contract or bounds of any kind - hence why I am able to do things like rewrite the book and sell off the merch for full profit, even print the follow-ups myself if I see fit. However, the rights were sold abroad and the contracts with those countries remains entirely valid.

Because of this, I'm kept writing DT for a foreign market (though the main source of motivation for this, the DTNordic team, help out with US, UK and Austrailean negotiations as well since my new agent is part of that team) while fairly free on the English front.

So you mentioned using the money to print the books...Are you printing more in the UK or something or paying to have them printed elsewhere or what?

Note the fact that it was a mention, and by no means finalized thing... but I think, for a nice-looking sample to give to hopeful publishers in English-speaking countries, I'll consider self-printing a few copies of the final rewrite. They won't be for commercial sale, unless I really consider it to be a wise investment.

so what your saying is that you are still writing DT books.  But only for foreign countries?

No she is writing them because she has several contracts with foreign countries and is currently looking for a contract in this country but in the mean time considering selfpublishing while she does other things such as commercialise her Merchandise side of things through Punk Ethics...

Am I right or completely off?

Nope, not quite it.

I only have to write DT for the foreign countries - they're the only ones I'm obliged to work for, if you ignore the debt I owe the English fanbase. The foreign companies force me to continue work on the series despite any other thoughts in my head, and in doing so ensure I work on the English version for their own use and continue with DT promo work. They're the reason I can't just let it fade into the background, if that makes sense.

Emma, you should totally use LuLu. SOOOO the choice.

That was indeed the plan. :3

I see. I would totally go with LuLu if you do anything along those lines. My publisher (Half Full Publishing) is basically working on a new business plan which uses LuLu as a simpler way to print and distribute books while providing a name for the publisher and helping out authors...like me. I am in great spirits right now because...I just got my ISBN! 978-0-6151-5018-5!!!
Don't bother searching it on any sites just yet as I still have to approve some things before it will be on any of the sites. But it is still my ISBN. Neatisms!
Anyway....LuLu also has GREAT customer support!

I'm having trouble grasping how they can be a publisher, if they publish their work through Lulu.  Huh Meh, just make sure they handle their side of things well, advertising and such.
