  • Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born! Cheesy

Not reaaallly in any order, my rough-ish list. Couldn't make up a top ten, so have ten bands instead.

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Muse - Pretty much any album. xD
Radiohead: Pablo Honey, OK Computer or the Bends... probably the Bends, though.
Pink Floyd - The Wall
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
AFI - Sing the Sorrow
Panic! At the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
Brand New - Deja Entendu and The Devil and the God Are Raging Inside of Me
Nine inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral

The ones that spring to mind right now are:

Nightwish - Dark Passion Play
Skillet - Comatose
Gackt - MARS
Vic Mignogna - Metafiction

Feels a bit puny and uncultured compared to your lists. xD

I wouldn't expect you to have heard of the last two anyway, since one is Japanese and the other not even available on Amazon. xD

But Nightwish are relatively well known, at least in Europe.

Nightwish and Gackt were the only two I knew of.

MSB, you don't know of Nightwish? I thought you would have, they have a female vocalist. Shocked Sort of goth/opera-metal-style, if I remember correctly - I confuse them with Within Temptation constantly so I'm not sure.

They're kind of symphonic metal. I got into them recently - they're a Finnish band, recently got a new vocalist.
