  • Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born! Cheesy

Old idea.
What's your 'dream team' band? Your ideal lineup that would perform private concerts for just you.

Mine:

Trent Reznor - Vocals/Synths
David Gilmour - Lead guitar
Kevin Shields - Rhythm guitar
Gary Mounfield - Bass
Dave Grohl  -Drums

Ok, so I never said the lineup had to make sense...

Hm...

Vocals/Lyrics - Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance)
Co-Lyricist/Musical Composition - Jesse Lacey (Brand New)
Lead Guitar - Brian May (Queen)
Rhythm Guitar/Lyrics - Ryan Ross (Panic! At the Disco)
Keyboard/Musical Composition/Backing Vocals - Matt Bellamy (Muse)
Bass - Jesse F. Keeler (Death from Above 1979)
Drums - Jimmy Chamberlain (Smashing Pumpkins)
Synths/Production - Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails)

Music Video Producer - Jared Leto (Actor/Producer/30 Seconds to Mars)
Album Art - Alex Pardee & Gerard Way (Eyesuck Ink Art Studios & My Chemical Romance, respectively)

Drums was a tough one, I had to go by skill instead of how much I like them... and the only drummers I know of are ones I like. xD So Chamberlain was a wildcard. I think Grohl maaaay have been a better choice.

In fact, I'm still somewhat uncertain about both the choices for drummers and guitarists...

And yeah, my band does have a lot of multitasking and stuff going on. xD And about a dozen people on lyrics. And Lacey doing almost nothing aside from lyrics... shit, sorry Jesse. xD He can do backing vocals too?

It's also almost 100% eye candy but you can ignore that.

Big thumbs up for the JFK as bassist Cheesy

I was tempted, but Mani fitted better (if thats possible with my crazy lineup) than JFK did, since I think JFK is basically a 'lead bass' player, and that wouldn't have worked.

Album Art - Alex Pardee & Gerard Way (Eyesuck Ink Art Studios & My Chemical Romance, respectively)
No Storm Thorgerson...?

Ooo, very tempting, but he's a photography-based artist... the idea of Gerard's ideas partnered with Pardee's insane detail is too tempting to resist. xD
