  • Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born! Cheesy

I'm really sorry for reviving a dead topic!

I'm confused though, as I am the QUEEN of Scrubs AND friends trivia (no one has beaten me yet Tongue) and don't get the... dhammapada/banana hammock thing? xD [is it just that they're like... featured/randomly blurted out in both? O.o]

If you claim you are the Queen of Scrubs, you must understnd what a banana hammock is (Todd's speedo-esque thing that he seems to wear constantly)
also if you are the Queen of Friends you must recall the whole 'Princess Consuela Banana Hammock" thing

Basically, I had no idea what dhammapada was, but I was quite tired and therefore as I tried to read it my tiny mind noticed the fact that it has several of the same letters as 'banana hammock' and it made me giggle. Fearing an approaching storm, as it were, I figured I'd just amuse and confuse.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, there is no actual link between dhammapada and banana hammocks.

Basically, I had no idea what dhammapada was,

it's one of the Buddhist Scriptures(perhaps the most famous one) and it was originally written in a language called Pali.
