  • Triss: A group of us from the LARP society I'm part of decided to put on a role-playing convention, catering to roleplayers of all types from tabletop to LARP, so we got in a whole load of traders and people promoting their groups and stuff. There's quite a big, active RP community in the north-east, so we thought we'd tap into that. So 'Nerd East' was born! Cheesy

...take songs off my I-pod and put them on my I-tunes library.

What I mean is I synced songs off one pc that aren't on another and I am wondering if any of you bright people and Ben(Lol joking) know how to put the songs off the I-pod onto the other pc.

Short answer. You can't.

That would make breaking the law far too easy, so apple made it impossible.

ah right.  I thought you couldn't but my dad said he saw someone do it but forgot what he did.  So wasn't sure.

Is their a way I can sync songs from 1 pc and then sync songs from another pc without deleting the old songs?

Nope, I'm fairly sure you can't. When you sync with one iTunes you replace all the other songs. But then afterwards you can just sync it back to the first one. Smiley

This is from experience, my brother borrowed my iPod so he could play music at his party, and he tried to sync it to his computer and then I had to sync it back up to mine afterwards.

EVERYONE IS WRONG. xD

- You can take songs off your iPod, there's software designed to do this, though I can't guarantee it'll be free. I use Senuti, don't know what to use for Windows, though.

- To stop it syncing and replacing songs, go to your settings (under [iPod Name], not Music or suchlike) and turn off sync, not sure how exactly it's worded. I always use that method - you just drag and drop what you want from your library to your iPod, great for laptops which can only hold so much. I hate sync.

However, I don't know how pc-to-pc syncing works, so I can't say whether or not it's possible to have a non-syncing iPod played in another PC - I can remember trying this and it trying to sync automatically, though, and I was like DO NOT WANT. But it might be possible if you turn off syncing on connection? Idk.

It's not possible to play music from a Mac iPod on a Windows PC though.

Easiest method is just to plug your speakers into your iPod and play it from that. :3
