Quick poll, because I'm tired and feeling unwell.
You guys helped me get to the new name for The Network's protagonist, Aalis. Now, have a vote on how it's pronounced - as the name is, or in a more fantasy/celtic fashion.
Explanation on option b) - Ay-liss as a pronounciation could be for a variaty of reasons. It's similar to a Gaelic name, it's fantasy/mmorpg like in sound, and phonetically it's a decent hint towards 'alias' with it's more pronounced 'ay'.
If you really want to e phonetically obvious, it could be 'ay-lass', which is identical to the pronounciation of that Gaelic name (that I thiiink is spelled Aelis or Alis, but no promises - phonetically, it's more similar than ay-liss because the Gaels - Lewis residents especially - tend to overdo vowel sounds like 'a' where they're not really used) , but personally that's far too obvious for my tastes to put as an option.
As stated before, Aalis/Alias - just a little bit of literary fun, but it's helpful for planning alternative pronunciations.
If it's all cool with you guys, I like being able to bounce ideas for the rewrite off of you, it really helps me out. If there's no objections, I intend to keep at it - maybe release sample sections if I can get over my self-consciousness and copyright worries, and more besides.
Rambling now. Please take a moment to vote. =D
I was just on a page about reverse messages in songs. I didn't even listen to them again because I can remember half the clips clearly. it's late enough that I'm freaked out enough to be seeing dead rock stars speaking them if i close my eyes.
backwards messages creep me out so much. this paragraph is of no relation to anything, except perhaps a request for me to be sectioned.
