I hope you don't mind I shared this on my wall? It will mean my friends will see this, and I just remembered that there's no way of telling whether they'll behave or not... If they do, they'll just be over my re-post. If not, they might turn up on your blog or forum... Just thought I'd better give you a heads up... Sorry if they cause any trouble...
Who’s that Pokemon?
Roan, a regular commenter and member of the forum, left a compelling question there today that I felt needed it's own blog post:
If you could be transported to the world of Pokemon (any platform, any generation), which place/region, and with which Pokemon?
That's right, guys. We're having a POKEMON post. Because I love Pokemon and so do all the cool people in the world.
Here's Roan answer, which I thought was wonderfully inventive and strategic:
I'd choose an Igglybuff that would come to me as an egg so I can breed it myself, and the region I'd like to explore the most would be the Orange Islands.
And mine, which was much less original:
Pokemon Yellow [the Gameboy Colour game from the same generation as Red and Blue] was my first and favourite, so I'd have to pick Kanto with Pikachu. After beating the Elite Four, I'd use the money to buy a falling-down little place outside of Lavender Town. I'd head into the city to buy cakes and tea regularly as well as to catch up on events, freaking out the townspeople because I have a freakin' Mewtwo with me.
And now, of course, I want to know your answer! So drop it in the comments. :D
IT'S POKÉMON WE'RE TALKING ABOUT POKÉMON YOU MUST HAVE EXPECTED ME TO TURN UP HERE OH MY LORD POKÉMON YES YES Anyway, Johto and Espeon. I am a huge Espeonophile. That thing is gorgeous, fast, and massively overpowered, or so I always felt (not that I was ever interested in playing fair). PSYCHIC ALL THE THINGS
I was never very into pokemon unfortunatly but it would have to be machamp just cos he's a bad ass but then I know you can use some of the pokemon to fly so this would tempt me. I coudlnt name one area in pokemon land though so erm.... wherever I get dropped :P
I am completely unqualified to answer this, but I really wanted to give you an answer since you left such great comments and thoughts on my blog today. Thankfully, my SecondBorn, aside from being completely adorable (she's 16 and will hate me for saying that :) ) is a total Japanophile, and loves all things Japanese, anime, manga, etc., and that includes Pokemon. So I asked her your question. Her response: Johto Region, with a Walrein. I hope that's meaningful to you. :)
That is a completely meaningful and completely awesome answer. :D Walrein and his previous evolutions are adorable. I think I've previously stated my admiration for your Secondborn's taste in entertainment -- getting into Japanese entertainment in my teens really helped expand my appreciation of comics, TV and music. Don't feel like you have to leave comments just because I've left some on your site -- I comment on your posts for the joy of the discussion. :)
