I’ve never done one of these before, and now I know why. These things are a nightmare to put together when I don’t date my art. There’s a lesson to be learned there.
So yeah, this ate up a lot of time. But I like how clear it is when I started taking art seriously and studying how to improve (2008 onwards). I know the trick to art is just practicing as much as possible, but it’s satisfying to see just how much my work improves over the years.
For a while I was worried I’d never be able to surpass the sleek, coloured work I did in 2006 (completely ignoring the fact I couldn’t draw a human face). This year I finally got over that worry and I’m looking forward to involving more colour in my work this year.
Wow Emma, I truly love this! Even though I like blue haired people better (*cough* Kaito *cough* Shouma) I’m impressed by the red haired person from 2012’s drawings!
I had some fun drawing again myself a couple of days ago. I first did a sketch of a Jigglypuff, made two photo-copies, inked both, and then had some fun practicing shading with ink and pencil. In my opinion theone in pencil turned out the best ;D.
@Roan Weterings Thank you Roan! I’ll have to come up with a blue haired character, I don’t think I’ve got one (but blue, especially cyan, seems to be a reoccurring theme in my clothing designs).
Inking is fun! What tools are you using? I’ve tried inking with Indian Ink and a brush, Staedtler pigment liners, a Pentel brush pen and Sharpies. I think I like the pigment liners best because I can choose when I want a thicker line.

@EMaree @Roan Weterings Err… I’m doing it a bit old fashioned, indian ink and a pen… (one of those you even have to dip in the ink-jar, but it’s really fun to do though.) But I’m afraid I’m afraid I haven’t got a DeviantArt, however, I could make one if that would be the easiest way to share it?
