What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly post, created by blog friends Jaime and her sister Erin!
This blog post should have been up yesterday. I had it 99% done half-way through yesterday, but I didn’t post it. You want to know why?
Edits.
I entered the editing zone and now it won’t let go of me. Every moment of time is a moment for edits. I am edits. You are edits. Everything is edits.
(And in that moment, I swear we were edits.)
Right now I am editing. Editing a blog post. I think the ‘edit’ word at the top of this page is appeasing the edit vortexbeast, but I’m not sure how long I’ve got.
Let’s begin.
What I’ve Been Up To
I gave blood today yesterday! Or I tried to, at least.
I’m not afraid of needles, so I try to donate whenever I can. Blood donation was out for a while after I got my tattoo, but when a local research lab needed small donates for diabetes studies I was eligible and signed up straight away.
But it didn’t go well. My veins are far below the surface of the skin, and hard to find (it’s a genetic thing). The nurse couldn’t pull any blood out of me, despite trying three different places. This isn’t the first time this has happened, but I feel quite guilty about it.
Ah well. Maybe we’ll have better luck in September.
What Inspires Me Right Now
I’m still really digging WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE . Aside from that, I’ve been having a semi-observant week where I’ve been impressed by people around me and all their habits. And hobies. And social lives.
People are cool. I like people.
What I’m Reading
I’ve been super-busy with editing and life this week, so reading fell by the wayside again. Forgive me, to-read pile. I read Hawkeye Volume 2 and that’s about it.
What I’m Writing
I’m at the last leg of the DIVIDE THE SKY edits! (Electronic pass, the paper pass was completed a short while ago.) I am so excited about getting this thing done and then sending it out to beta readers who will find ways to improve it that I could never even imagine.
Two days ago I accidentally disabled my internet. which helped me make a huge amount of progress on the editing. I even, briefly, entered the editing zone. Time flew by. Pages fluttered. I got the closest I will ever get to enjoying editing.
I thought it finished at the end of that night. I was wrong. The editbeast has me. The editvortex calls. THE EDITBEAST HAS MY LEG HELP–*is dragged into the dark*
