It’s Writing Wednesday! My weekly update on how awesome jasmine tea is, whether I’d be a waterbender or a firebender, and if I have SUPER COOL NEW STORIES OUT FOR YOU TO ENJOY.
What Awesome Stuff I’ve Been Up To

My short story, LEVIATHAN RISES, is OUT NOW in the”Under the Waves” anthology by BFS Award-nominated publisher Fox Spirit Books.
Some very very cool people are in the anthology with me, including KC Shaw, JB Rockwell and Steven Poore.
LEVIATHAN RISES is the short story of a homeless girl who makes friends with a homicidal seamonster. It’s a little bit bloody and a lot of fun.
What I’m Writing
Editing continues on at a frantic (for me!) pace. I’ve added a progress bar to the blog sidebar so I can pump myself up about the whole thing.
I’m more than a third of the way through, and almost half way there (at which point I break out the Bon Jovi and have a party).
What I’m Reading
I’m enjoying the hell out of KUSHIEL’S DART. Part 1 of my read-along is over here where I answer some very interesting questions about the first eight chapters.
What Works For Me
The read-along is reminding me of how important it is to read outside my usual genres and styles.
KUSHIEL’S DART is massive book, in the unfamiliar alternative history genre, with lots of fancy words, a cast list to keep the various players in order, timeline jumps, and buckets of world-building in the first chapters… all stuff that usually send me running the other way. But I’m really enjoying it here. It’s inspiring to see it break all of the rules and still be amazing.

Yay! Congratulations! :D
Get that editing done, raaaawr! And enjoy the book ^_^
