After seeing a group of my blog friends taking part (shout out to Colin, Miss Cole, Rachel and Robin!), I ended up joining Write On Con!, a free virtual writing event where up-and-coming children and teen fiction writers get to interact with agents and learn a few tricks.
I had no idea what it involved when I started taking part, but it’s turned out to be an awesome lesson in how to fine-tune my query from UK cover letter into US format., and I’ve been treated with lots of interesting manuscripts to read and comment on. It reminds me of a smaller, more focused version of AbsoluteWrite.
If you’re a writer and you haven’t yet heard of the convention, there’s still plenty of time to jump in and take part.
If you are taking part, please take a look at my query, 250 words and first 5 pages and I’ll try to critique your work as well.
